Frank McCaffrey will take to the stage in Sligo on Tuesday, November 12.
The countdown is well and truly on for the Michael Commins Concert Shows that will be staged in the Radisson Blu Hotel, Sligo, on Monday and Tuesday, November 11 and 12. The legendary shows, in association with Tom Kelly Promotions, attract patrons from every county on the island of Ireland as well as some from England and America.
The shows feature traditional country music along with some Irish ballads and folk songs. It is not just the wonderful concert line-ups on both nights that attract such a loyal following but the friendships build-up over the years with the hugely enjoyable afternoon sessions in the bar and again after the concert on both nights.
These will be the biggest two nights of country music in Sligo for many years and are attracting huge interest across the region.
The show on Monday, November 11, has a superb line-up featuring Hugo Duncan, Mick Flavin, Sandy, Kelly, Patrick Feeney, Billy McFarland, Tony Stevens, Owen Mac, David James, Eddie Gallagher (Donegal), Michael Cleary and Jacqui Bannon, Fr James McDonagh (Ballymote), Annmarie O’Riordan, Kenny Archer, Clodagh Togher (Belmullet), Colm O’Donnell, Tony Marren, Charlie Arkins and the Ryan Turner Band.
Another brilliant show will be staged on Tuesday night, November 12, with Declan Nerney, John Glenn, Art Supple, Shawn Cuddy, Frank McCaffrey, Mick Mulhern and Tony Kerr as headline acts. The shows start at 7.45pm each night.
The Monday afternoon session in the bar is from 3.30pm to 5.30pm and serves as a brilliant ‘Welcome to Sligo’ for patrons who love to flock to the venue early in the day. The Tuesday afternoon session is also in the same time frame.
Mick Mulhern and his band featuring Michael Holster, Michael Golden and John Costello, have developed a superb rapport with patrons at these sessions, many of whom join them for a song or two, as do many of the acts performing on the main stage later in the night.
