Western Care Association (WCA) is dedicated to providing support and services to children, young adults and adults with specific neurodiverse needs in Mayo.

WCA provides a range of services including Residential Services, Day Services, Family Support Services and Social and Recreational Activities.

Anne Keenan brings experience from both the public and private sectors. She previously worked with IBM, Intel and Philips and has worked in the disability sector since 2002.

Dr Anita Hyland has worked across numerous disability and mental health settings in Ireland, which includes adult, children’s disability network team, CAMHS in intellectual disability, and mental health intellectual disability teams.

Earlier this year, Paul Forry, Head of IT, joined the team alongside new CEO Dr Mary Boyd, who commented on the latest appointments: “I’m delighted to welcome Anne and Anita to the team at Western Care Association. We have two compassionate people with a wealth of knowledge that they can bring to our expanding team. This will be invaluable as we move forward. I look forward to working alongside both of them.”

Ms Keenan added: “I’ve been long aware of the important, innovative and creative work Western Care Association does in supporting people to live the lives of their choice, especially through my previous roles. Being from the West of Ireland, it feels great to return to my roots and contribute to Western Care Association in its upwards trajectory.”

Furthermore, Dr Anita Hyland is ‘delighted’ to join the WCA team.

“As a Mayo native, I’ve always been aware of the Association’s strong presence within our communities. Since joining the organisation, I’ve witnessed the incredibly hard work undertaken, both in terms of direct support and behind the scenes, in supporting people to live full and rewarding lives. “I look forward to contributing all I can to the development of the organisation, promoting psychological wellbeing, and offering effective clinical interventions to the neurodiverse population that we support,” she concluded.
