Western Care Association support Mayo Roscommon Hospice Foundation in annual fundraiser

This is the sixteenth year of the fundraiser

The Western Care Association has announced they will raise funds for Mayo Roscommon Hospice Foundation through its annual fundraiser.

A cheque for €889.50 was presented to Mayo Roscommon Hospice Foundation through a fundraising initiative involving staff at Western Care Association’s Head Office along with Anthony Grealis, and his dedicated support worker, Lorraine Tiernan.

The tradition began in 2005, when the inaugural fundraiser raised €235.79, and due to the overwhelming success and enjoyment of the event, it continued annually (excluding a pause from 2020 to 2023).

Over the 16 years of this initiative, Western Care Association has raised more than €10,000 for the Mayo Roscommon Hospice Foundation.

Dr May Boyd, CEO of Western Care Association, said: “Western Care Association is committed to continuing this fundraiser for Mayo Roscommon Hospice Foundation, who play a vital role in providing palliative care services both in the local community and at their two hospices.

“Every cent raised goes directly to funding these critical services, which enable people in the community to live their lives with comfort. We are proud to support an important cause and look forward to continuing our annual support for Mayo Roscommon Hospice Foundation in the years to come,” she concluded.
