A Status Yellow rain warning is in place across Mayo today.
The weather warning will begin at 3pm today, Thursday, October 24 until tomorrow, Friday, October 25 at 3am.
Heavy rain with a possibility for localised flooding and difficult travelling conditions is expected, with Mayo County Council pleading people to exercise caution on the roads.
While the rain is expected to clear up for short periods on Friday, a wet weekend is expected in Mayo, with Saturday seeing high levels of rainfall, before lightening up on Sunday.
