The new series of TG4 show ‘Moving West’ is set to air tomorrow, with the first episode focusing on Mayo.

The Western Development Commission (WDC) announced the return of ‘Moving West’ for a third season last month.

The highly anticipated return of the popular TG4 series coincides with the WDC’s twenty-fifth anniversary celebration.

The new season will feature six weekly episodes, each focusing on a different county, beginning with County Mayo.

Produced by Dundara Television & Media in collaboration with the WDC, and hosted by beloved Irish television presenter Mary Kennedy, ‘Moving West’ continues to capture the heart and soul of life in the West and Northwest of Ireland.

Through heartfelt, real-life stories, the series highlights individuals and families who have relocated to this beautiful region to embrace a new way of life.

‘Moving West’ has developed into a deeper exploration of the many reasons people move to or return to the West. This season not only features stunning shots of the breathtaking landscapes but also introduces viewers to people from all walks of life and from many parts of the world who have made the West their home.

The series delves into the rich variety of stories, from families seeking a better quality of life, to entrepreneurs, artists, and professionals drawn by the region’s opportunities in technology, tourism, and the creative industries.

It’s a celebration of the community, culture, and natural beauty that make the West of Ireland so unique.

Mary Kennedy, presenter of Moving West, is ‘delighted’ to see the show has developed over three seasons.

“It’s always a joy for me to spend time in our beloved west of Ireland and to showcase this part of the country, rich in community, landscape and progression. I’m very proud to be part of the Moving West team and to be working with TG4 on this important and timely programme,” she said.

Producer and director Enda Grace of Dundara Television and Media commented: “We met wonderful people over the six weeks including a flying doctor, a goat farmer, a lighthouse guide and a professional rock climber! With each episode, we've delved deeper into the rich cultural fabric and diverse experiences that make the West such a vibrant place to live.

“The response to the first two seasons has been incredible, and I believe this series will resonate even more with viewers. It’s a true celebration of community, resilience, and the unmatched natural beauty of the west,” he concluded.

Viewers are encouraged to tune in and join the conversation for their own counties using the #MovingWest24 hashtag.

The first episode of the series, focusing on Mayo, will air tomorrow night at 7.30pm on TG4.
