The coffee morning takes place next Thursday, October 10

Mayo Mental Health Association (MMHA) and The Creel Coffee Shop, Castlebar, will host a coffee morning for World Mental Health Day on Thursday, October 10.

Each year, MMHA hosts an annual coffee morning in celebration of World Mental Health Day and are delighted to be partnering with The Creel Coffee Shop for this year’s ‘It is time to Prioritise Mental Health in the Workplace’ themed coffee morning.

The coffee morning will be running from 8am-12pm with the hope of bringing people of all backgrounds together for a coffee and a chat.

Pearce Parkingson, from The Creel Coffee Shop, commented: "We’re proud to host this coffee morning at The Creel in support of Mayo Mental Health Association for World Mental Health Day. “It’s a chance for the community to come together, raise awareness, and support a cause that affects us all. Every conversation over coffee can make a difference,” he added.

Lianne McManamon, Mental Health Promotion Lead Mayo MHA echoed this.

“The coffee morning this year in The Creel Castlebar aims to see local partner organisations come together in celebration of promoting positive mental health and wellbeing in the workplace,” she said.

Information on Mayo Mental Health Association (MMHA)

MMHA have offices in both Castlebar and Ballina, where they focus on promoting, supporting and educating people where possible.

This support is provided through their four-pillar approach:

Information centres in Castlebar and Ballina, schools education programmes (MMHA are currently supporting and facilitating programmes within 29 secondary schools across Mayo), mental health promotion programmes and specialist mental health housing.

For more information about MMHA, see their website and follow them on Facebook, X, LinkedIn, Instagram and TikTok.

Remember: Your mental health belongs to you – mind it, share it, but above all don’t hide it.
