Eleven Mayo family businesses have been nominated for the 2024 Irish Family Business awards.

The revelation of finalists saw the Mayo businesses receive 25 nominations between them.

The Mayo nominees are as follows: 

Agri Family Business Of The Year - Croagh Patrick Seafood and Tours

Best In Customer Service- Croagh Patrick Seafood and Tours, and Kelly's Butchers, 

Best Small Family Business Of The Year - Paddy Macs 

Family Farming Business Of The Year- Croagh Patrick Seafood and Tours

Family Food And Drink Producer Of The Year- Croagh Patrick Seafood and Tours, Kelly's Butchers, and Mescan Brewery.

Fastest Growing Family Business- An Even Better Place to Work Ltd

Hospitality Business Of The Year- Bar Square, Clew Bay Hotel, Noone Building Management and Utilities Limited, Paddy Macs, and Westport Hotel Group.

International Family Business Of The Year- An Even Better Place to Work Ltd, and Mescan Brewery.

Professional and Business Services Family Business- An Even Better Place to Work Ltd, and ULTRAPURE Laboratories Ltd.

Retail and Wholesale Family Business of the Year- ULTRAPURE Laboratories Ltd

Rising Star Award- ULTRAPURE Laboratories Ltd

Sustainable Family Business of the Year- Clew Bay Hotel, and McGrath Industrial Waste Ltd.

Tech Family Business of the Year- An Even Better Place to Work Ltd

Transport and Logistics Family Business of the Year- McGrath Industrial Waste Ltd

Now, in its sixth year, the Irish Family Business awards has become a highly anticipated event that recognises the dedication, innovation, and resilience of family-run enterprises across the nation. 

This year, there are 21 diverse categories for businesses to compete in, reflecting the many thriving sectors of Irish Family Businesses the island over.

Mayo businesses received a nomination in all but five categories, the winners of which will be announced by journalist and author, Matt Cooper, at a luncheon on November 8 in Dublin.

Attendees can look forward to an afternoon filled with celebration, with the Irish Family Business Awards providing a platform to honour the remarkable contributions of family businesses to the Irish economy and their local communities. 

From long-established legacy companies to innovative newcomers, this event showcases the diversity and strength of family enterprises.
