EV charging station
A total of 17 Mayo groups have benefited from government funding to support initiatives including community gardens, solar energy, EV charging, and community composting.
A total of €645,120 has been allocated to Mayo groups from the €27 million Community Climate Action Fund.
Administered by local authorities, the fund can provide amounts of up to €100,000 to larger local projects over an 18-month period.
Projects selected for funding under the programmes will have to contribute to national climate and energy targets across the following five themes; community energy, travel, food and waste, shopping and recycling and local climate and environmental action
The allocations under Action Strand 1, totalling €609,000, went to the following Mayo groups; River Moy Search and Rescue; Kilcommon GAA Community Development Ltd; Burrishoole Community Partnership Ltd; Louisburgh Area Men's Shed CLG; Bangor Erris Tidy towns; Achill Community Gardening Club; Mayo Beekeepers Association; Ballyhaunis Community Council Clg; Killala Community Council; Newstart CLG; Kiltimagh Knock Utd Soccer Club CLG; Kiltimagh Amenity Park CLG; Castlebar Tidy Towns; Kilmaine Community Recreational Trust; Castlebar Mitchels GAA Club; Inishturk Community Club CLG and Ballyheane Community Sports
Funding of €36,210 allocated under Action Strand 1a went to CLG Tuar Mhic Éadaigh.
