A group of women from Westport who undertook 605-kilometre in aid of Mayo Roscommon Hospice and Mayo Rape Crisis Centre have arrived in Malin Head.
Westport Women on Wheels began their cycle from Mizen Head, Co Cork on Tuesday and arrived in Malin Head, Co Donegal today.
The group had already raised a significant amount of money for their two chosen charities before they began the gruelling cycle earlier this week.
The cycle involved a 147 kilometre-journey from Schull to Charleville, another 157.26 kilometres from Charleville to Athlone, 126 kilometres from Athlone to Enniskillen, followed by the final 147.58-kilometer journey to Malin.
One of the cyclists, Grainne Kennedy, described the feeling of completing the cycle as ‘just amazing and very emotional’ for all 17 cyclists.
You can still donate to Westport Women On Wheels’ fundraiser in support of Mayo Roscommon Hospice and Mayo Rape Crisis Centre.
