THE Funeral Mass of Swinford native Alan Carter will take place this afternoon in his native town. 

The community was left reeling after Mr Carter, who grew up in the heart of the town, was found dead at a premises in Westport on Monday morning. 

He had been living in Kiltimagh and once played a role in the popular Hardy Bucks television and internet series. He was a highly-respected member of Swinford Football Club for many years. 

His Funeral Mass takes place in Our Lady Help of Christians Church, Swinford at 12 noon today (Friday, August 30) followed by burial in Kilconduff Cemetery, Swinford. The Mass will be streamed live. 

He is predeceased by his grandparents and father-in-law Tommy and will be deeply missed and loved by his partner Lorraine, daughter Aleisha, parents Geraldine and John, brothers Kevin and Gordon, sisters-in-law Aoife and Liona, and Caroline Carney, nephews Cormac and Jonah, aunts, uncles, cousins, work colleagues and many friends.
