Met Éireann have issued a status yellow wind warning for county Mayo and county Galway.
The warning begins at 7pm this evening, Wednesday, August 21, until 2.30am tomorrow morning, Thursday, August 22.
Unseasonably strong and gusty south to southwest winds are expected, with spells of heavy rain.
Tomorrow, Thursday, is expected to be dry until 2pm, with thunder expected through Thursday night into the early hours of Friday, August 23.
Friday and Saturday will be showery, with speckles of sun creeping through, before Sunday bringing heavy rain across the county.
