A Mayo footballer, local county councillor and well-known radio presenter are among those partaking in a star-studded fundraiser for Castlebar Golf Club.
Taking place on Saturday, September 14, “You Must Be Joking” is a unique fundraiser event which will see some of Mayo's most well-known faces step completely out of their comfort zone and dip their toes into the world of stand-up comedy.
Under the guidance of local comedian Ger Staunton, Robbie Hennelly of Breaffy and Mayo GAA fame; Michael D McAndrew, from Mid-West Radio, local businessman and pantomime and musical star Walter Donoghue; Cllr Donna Sheridan; Joe McDonald, renowned chairperson of Celtic FC, and Triona O’Grady, member of Cliff’s Journey fundraising committee, will be entertaining the audiences for this novel event at the TF Royal Hotel and Theatre.
Proceeds from the night will go to Castlebar Golf Club and also to Cliff’s Journey, a charity set up to help one of its members readjust to his new way of life since his traumatic life-changing surgery. There is also a chance for the winner to receive a cheque for their chosen charity.
The event will take place on Saturday, September 14 in the TF Royal Theatre at 8pm with doors open from 7pm.
Tickets are €25 each and are available from the Castlebar Golf Club, the participants and also online through the TF website.
