The beautiful scenic Céide Coast Atlantic Run, hosted by Ballycastle Athletic Club, is set to take place on Saturday, September 21.

The Half-marathon will start at 12pm sharp and participants will head off on one of the most scenic routes in Ireland.

Runners will pass along the wild, rugged North Mayo Céide Coast, encounter iconic landmarks such as the breath-taking Céide cliffs, Ballycastle beach and Dún Briste (The Broken Fort).

The Céide Coast Atlantic Run route will commence at the Céide Fields Visitor Centre and will follow the coast road to the famous Downpatrick Head.

The race will enter the headland where runners will get a chance to run 500 meters off-road, and will have an opportunity to view the spectacular Dún Briste sea stack.

From there, the race will return to the main road and finish in the idyllic village of Ballycastle, where a warm welcome and refreshments will await.

Each entrant will receive their own uniquely designed medal and souvenir tech t-shirt.

There is also an option to participate in a 10 kilometer run which will also depart from the Céide Fields Visitor Centre, following the coastal route back towards Ballycastle along the spectacular Céide Cliffs.

For more information, and to register for the race, see the Céide Coast Atlantic Run website.
