To coincide with Mayo Day this Saturday, Ballycastle Athletics Club has announced that registration for the Céide Coast Atlantic Run is now open.

Members of Ballycastle Athletics Club were joined by the Manager of Céide Fields, Gretta Byrne, and the 2023 winner, Norah Newcombe Pieterse, to launch this year’s run in the Céide Fields.

The annual race will take place Saturday September, 21, where participants will depart the iconic Céide Fields Visitor Centre and take in the breathtaking vistas of Ballycastle, including Ballycastle beach and the majestic Downpatrick Head, before finishing in Ballycastle village.

Runners can register to take part in the 10-kilometer run, or the half-marathon.

The 10-kilometer run departs from the Céide Fields Visitor Centre and follows the coastal route back towards Ballycastle along the spectacular Céide Cliffs.

This year the run will continue straight from Ceide to the bottom of Ballycastle village, following the half-marathon route towards the beach, just 1 kilometer from the turn off the R314 another right turn will reconnect you with the half-marathon finishers to a finish at Ballycastle Community Hall.

When the hard work is done, entrants are invited to enjoy the warm Ballycastle community welcome and the post-race refreshments in the community hall.

Each entrant will receive their own uniquely designed medal and souvenir tech top.

Runners looking to ‘Beat The Breeze’ can register for the race on the Céide Coast Atlantic Run’s website.
