Over €120,000 funding for Mayo Islands

Deputy Michael Ring confirmed the funding, which comes under the Islands Minor Capital Works scheme

Mayo Islands are to receive €121,894 in funding.

Deputy Michael Ring TD confirmed the funds, which come under the Islands Minor Capital Works 2024.

Deputy Ring said heh was ‘pleased’ and welcomed the funding.

He explained: “The funding covers a range of works such as solar street lighting, car park works, mobility improvements and car park protections.

 “This is very welcome news for our islands. Funding of this nature is vital in maintaining and developing the infrastructure on our islands. This funding is coming from the Department of Rural and Community Development,” he added.

The following is the successful funding allocations:

“It is important that we continue to support our islands for the benefit of the communities on the island and the visitors coming to the area,” concluded Deputy Michael Ring.
