Several free entertaining events to take place at Mayo national park

Action packed weekend at Wild Nephin National Park for Space Week

The Ballycroy Visitor Centre will host a number of events this month

You won’t be bored this July with Ballycroy Visitor Centre at Wild Nephin National Park!

The Mayo tourist attraction is offering a wide range of free events this month, from hiking to kids clubs, there is something for everyone. 

The events kick off this weekend on Saturday, July 6, with a guided habitat walk at the Ballycroy visitor centre at 2pm.

On Sunday, July 7, our Head Guide, Michael Chambers, will lead a ten kilometer guided walk with stories from the mountains at 11am, meeting at the new Srahrevagh Carpark.

Tuesday, July 9, at 2 pm, will see the return of the ‘Wild Child Club’ at the Ballycroy visitor centre, with the theme of the event being ‘Let's find some bees’.

Thursday, July 11, at 2 pm, kids club at the Ballycroy visitor centre, ‘our Native Woodlands’.

Friday, July 12, the Atlantic Blanket Bog and Coastal Guided Walk at the Claggan Mountain Coastal Trail will take place.

At 12 noon on Saturday, July 13, at the Ballycroy visitor centre from 10am-1pm, a ‘Postcard Making Workshop’ with Experienced Creative Curator Ciaran will be the event. Create a set of 10 postcards inspired by the fading tradition of sending a postcard from your holiday. Working with recycled and pre-loved materials. Suitable for ages 12 and up, all materials are supplied.

 Limited places are available for this workshop; please contact 098 49889 to book your place.

Finally, on Sunday, July 14, join a guide on the Habitat walk at the Ballycroy visitor centre from 2pm.

All events are free to attend, as is a visit to the National Park and visitor centre.

To help you enjoy your amazing National Park, you can also avail of the free shuttle bus service.
