Busy schedule lined up for event hoping to get public to 'change one thing' to accelerate the transition to a circular economy

One Westport's Circular Economy event to take place this Saturday

Westport Town Hall Theatre will host the event.

One Westport's Circular Economy event is taking place on Saturday next, June 15 from 10am to 4pm at the Westport Town Hall Theatre, Westport. The theme of the event is 'Change One Thing' and the group hopes to encourage everyone, from individuals to business and organisations to 'change one thing' to accelerate the transition to a circular economy. This event is free and open to all the public.

The following is the schedule for what will be a very busy day:

Start time:

13.00 hrs - Fin Keegan, Editor

12.10 hrs - Dr Derek McLoughlin, Ecologist/Project Manager at LIFE IP Wild Nature Time.

13.20 hrs - Dr Mairead Hurley, Assistant Professor in Science Education, School of Education Trinity College, Dublin

13.30 hrs - Jacinta Barrins, Former UN Resident Coordinator, UNDP Resident Representative in Asia and Africa, currently pioneering through behavioural change a program to reduce the carbon footprint of the over 60s

13.40 - PANEL: FOOD (Moderator – McKinley Neal) with Caithriona McCarthy, Edible Landscape Project CLG; Eoin Heverin, Foodie Save App; Dr Derek McLoughlin, Jacinta Barrins, Dr Mairead Hurley.

BREAK

14.10 - Carla Rosenkranz, Barter Chain

14.20 - Terri Metcalfe, Poet

14.25 - Kate Carty, Writer

14.30 - Steve O’Reilly, Circular Economy communications and Policy, Rediscovery Centre, Dublin
