Harpist Holly Geraghty is a Ballindine native
Mayo native harpist, Holly Geraghty, will release her debut album in the famous Matt Molloy’s pub.
Ms Geraghty’s debut album entitled ‘Musical Musings from Mayo’ will officially be launched on June 26 at 8pm in the Westport pub.
The ten-track solo harp album pays tribute to the people, music and landscape of county Mayo, featuring a captivating blend of old and newly composed Irish traditional repertoire deeply connected to this region.
This album includes guest artists Matt Griffin on guitar, Dan Bodwell/Caimin Gilmore on double bass, and Maria Ryan/Lucia MacPartlin on violin.
The Ballindine woman is a distinguished harper, composer, and educator.
Immersed in the world of Irish traditional music from an early age, Ms Geraghty initially began to play the concertina before moving on to the harp.

Recipient of numerous All-Ireland titles on both instruments and has showcased her talents across Europe, Britain, America, and Canada, she has also nurtured budding talents at academic institutions and international festivals.
The harpist holds a Bachelor of Music, a Graduate Diploma in Music Education, a Masters in Irish Traditional Music Performance, as well as a Postgraduate Diploma in School Leadership.
Her 2009 duet album Ceolmhar received much critical acclaim, and ‘Musical Musings from Mayo’ is sure to be no different.
The album will be available for purchase from Ms Geraghty’s website and major streaming platforms from June 27.
