The north Mayo business was recipient of the prestigious award
Blacksod Sea Safaris was awarded Best Outdoor Escape at the TOutsider.ie awards ceremony in Dublin last evening.
The prestigious award, supported by Vagabond Tours, was determined through a public vote.
Established in 2021 by Faulmore native, Michael Keane, the family-run business is renowned for its thrilling boating excursions and wildlife watching tours.
Upon receiving the award, Mr Keane shared his excitement and said the business ‘has been an amazing success story’.
“Blacksod Sea Safaris has quickly become synonymous with fun, flexible, and memorable adventures, offering a range of tours from day trips to the abandoned Inishkea Islands to coastal cruises below the majestic Cliffs of Croaghaun and whale watching expeditions” he said.
The award-winning activity is perfect for thrill-seeking adventurers. From the exhilarating high-speed blast around the bay in their 10-seater rigid, inflatable boat, ‘Rascal’, or set sail aboard their 33ft passenger boat, ‘The Huntress’, and immerse yourself in a family-friendly day out on the water.
Mairéad Melody Carr, Manager of Mayo North Tourism, extended warm congratulations to the proud owner of Blacksod Sea Safaris, saying adventure activity providers like Mr Keane’s business, ‘play a pivotal role in enhancing tourism in North Mayo’.
“Their unique and thrilling experiences not only attract visitors but also showcase the natural beauty and vibrant spirit of our region” she concluded.
