Scoil Phádraig raises €3,000 for Haiti

A bring and buy sale in Scoil PhΡdraig, Altamont Street, raised an astonishing €3,004 for the Gena Heraty Haiti Orphanage fund. The sale was organised by the pupils of sixth class, under the watchful eye of their teacher, Mr James Horkan, and Principal, StiofΡn Ó MórΡin.
On behalf of Gena, her family and friends, Mary O'Malley would like to thank the staff of the school and the entire parent population for their magnificent support and a special word of thanks to all the moms and grannies for the wonderful array of home baking. The school is also hugely indebted to all the shops and businesses in Westport who sponsored the many prizes for the raffles.
In addition to the very successful bring and buy sale, an appeal was made for blankets and clothes and the resulting bags and bags of beautifully presented clothing will make a huge difference to the lives of so many in Haiti.
