Westport hotel wins national tourism award; Open evening to discuss new business; St Mary's, Ballina in Schools semi-final
Clew Bay Hotel winner of FΡilte Ireland Tourism Business Challenge
The Clew Bay Hotel in Westport has been chosen as the winner among nine finalists in this year’s FΡilte Ireland Tourism Business Challenge. Launched in 2009, the Tourism Business Challenge invited individual businesses involved in the FΡilte Ireland Tourism Learning Networks to put forward innovative ideas they had implemented in response to economic challenges faced last year. The well know hotel, located on James Street, was chosen for a detailed and wide-ranging presentation which outlined the strategies used to combat the economic challenges facing the hotel industry.
Business centre host business start up evening in GMIT
Information on starting your own business will this evening be available to the general public at an open evening in the Innovation in Business Centre (IiBC) at the Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology (GMIT) in Castlebar. The open evening takes place from 5 pm to 8pm, with tours every 30 minutes, for individuals with a business idea who are interested in starting their own enterprise. Ballina girls get ready for All-Ireland semi final
St Mary’s Secondary School, Ballina will take on Munster champions St Caimin’s, Shannon in the Umbro FAI Schools Senior (U-18) Girls semi-final tomorrow (Thursday). The game has been fixed for the Tuam Celtic pitch with a 1pm kick-off time.
