The Croagh Patrick Heritage Trail Walking Festival (March 22 to 24) will hold an information night in Aughagower this week
Walking festival holds information night
The Croagh Patrick Heritage Trail Walking Festival 2013 takes place this year from March 22 to 24. The 61-kilometre Croagh Patrick Heritage Trail winds through the Mayo landscape, boasting scenery changes and spectacular views of Croagh Patrick along the way, and the festival has been gaining in popularity every year. In the run-up to the event, the organising committee is holding an information evening on the festival programme, which will include three great days of guided moderate to hard walks on the trail, gentle local loop walks, heritage-site visits and local myths and legends from experienced guides. The information evening takes place in Westport Country Lodge in Aghagower at 8pm this Thursday, February 21. It will include a talk from a senior Croí physiotherapist on exercise and staying healthy, as well as a cookery demonstration from Mayo Abbey Cookery School – and some delicious healthy bites prepared by the school. A cover charge of €5 can be applied to purchase the Croí cook book.
