Leading one-man shows ‘The Man in the Woman’s Shoes’ and ‘I Hear You and Rejoice’ – written and performed by world-renowned theatre collaborator Mikel Murfi – will return to Westport for its third run on Saturday, September 26, and Sunday, September 27, at Westport Town Hall, with limited audience capacity and all Covid guidelines in place. This show is returning by popular demand and tickets are already selling fast for what promises to be an excellent weekend of live theatre.
Westport Town Hall is also working on putting a new programme in place for what it hopes will be ‘the dawn of an exciting new and restorative era for our arts and entertainment sector as we strive to make our way back’ from the devastating blow of coronavirus.
As part of the process for presenting events, workshops and exhibitions for the coming year, Westport Town Hall is putting an open call in place for local, national and international artists to submit their best and boldest proposals to have their work considered for presentation at our venue.
The call is open to both amateur and professional multi-cultural artists across a wide range of both traditional and contemporary art forms such as: multi-disciplinary arts, digital arts, theatre, dance, music, opera, circus, participatory projects, performance lectures, multimedia storytelling, workshop-based projects, politically engaged projects, fashion – the possibilities are endless.
The theatre asks that ‘anyone making submissions/proposals of their work be mindful of such restrictions to our capacity that will likely continue into 2021’.
Artists or organisations wishing to make a submission should complete the online form via www.westporttheatre.com or email info@westporttheatre.com. For full details on upcoming events at the theatre, see www.westporttheatre.com or call the box office on 09828459.
