Meet December’s Mutt of the Month: Millie

PETS’ CORNER Six-year-old Labrador Millie desperately needs a loving forever home

I am a six-year-old Lab. My name is Millie. I am desperately unhappy to find myself living in a kennel. I cry. I bark. I plead with everyone passing to let me out. I know it upsets the humans, but honestly I can’t cope here. It’s loud. It’s busy. It’s hard to sleep. I can never really unwind and relax in this environment. Once I get away from the kennels, I start to relax a bit and I know that I would be much calmer once I got into a loving foster home with someone experienced.
I am quite strong and would benefit hugely from some kind training … the folks here will show you how to help me. I know I would love that so much. I am a lively, friendly girl who needs a human who is around a lot. I can get very upset when I see other dogs on lead so I would like a rural home where I don’t have to encounter too many dogs on my walks. I will need to be the only dog in the home.
I would love a family to call mine and a secure garden to romp around in. It’s really a matter of urgency that I find a foster home or a forever home ASAP. Can you help me?
Love, Millie

Millie is just one of many Mayo and Galway rescue dogs at Connemara-based Mutts Anonymous Dog Rescue and Adoption (MADRA) looking for a loving home. All dogs are neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. Please see www.madra.ie, email info@madra.ie or call 091 584274.
