Young country star to play at Tourmakeady school fundraiser
One of the country’s newest country singers, CiarΡn Rosney is to play a gig in Maire Luke’s in Tourmakeady this month as a fundraiser for the local Tourmakeady National School.
From a very early age the signs of becoming a full time country singer were very obvious to all who knew CiarΡn Rosney. Growing up in the heart of rural Ireland between two small villages, Ballycumber and Pullagh in Co Offaly, CiarΡn was known to his family and friends as a mobile singing radio! Whether it was on trips visiting relatives or just going to the bog to harvest the turf, once the car engine was turned on, CiarΡn started singing. Although travelling to many musical avenues in his quest to develop his musical knowledge and instrumental skills he always found himself returning to country music for inspiration and solace.
In 2012 CiarΡn made the brave decision to finally pursue his country music career. After spending a number of years teaching music he decided to follow his musical idols Ray Lynam, Vince Gill and Johnny Cash and take to the road as a full-time country singer. He has been working hard in the studio on his first country album which is due out in a few weeks and in the meantime his latest single ‘Willie’s Shows’ is picking up great airplay on all the local radio stations around the country. CiarΡn Rosney plays his first date in Tourmakeady for the fundraising dance in MΡire Luke’s Bar and Restaurant on Friday, June 13. Tickets are available for the dance from all around the Tourmakeady area.
