Pet owners in Mayo are being invited to nominate their animals for the Petmania Ruby Heart Awards 2026.
Pet owners across Mayo are encouraged to put forward their beloved animals as nominations open for the 2026 Petmania Ruby Heart Awards.
Launched by Petmania, the nationwide awards aim to celebrate the unique bond between pets and their owners, highlighting stories of courage, companionship and resilience.
From now and until May 6, pet owners can submit entries across a wide range of categories, recognising everything from heroic animals to social media stars and cherished family companions.
Emily Miller, Marketing Manager at Petmania, said the awards are about showcasing the important role pets play in people’s lives.
“Pets are part of our families, and we know there are so many inspiring stories out there that deserve to be heard, celebrated and shared,” she said.

The competition includes categories such as Bravest Pet, Golden Oldie, Favourite Feline, Family Pet, and Rescue Pet, as well as the increasingly popular Petfluencer award for animals with a strong online following.
There is also a Helping Paw category, recognising therapy and service animals that make a real difference in people’s lives.
In addition to pet-focused awards, nominations are also open for community categories including Dog Friendly Venue, Pet Friendly Workplace, and Rescue Activity, celebrating those who go above and beyond for animals.
With a prize fund of over €5,000, winners will receive national recognition and be honoured at a special ceremony in Kilkenny on June 10, 2026.
Organisers say the awards are an opportunity for communities like Mayo to showcase their standout pets and the positive impact animals have on everyday life.
