It has been confirmed that a Mayo road to a popular landmark in the county is set to close until the end of next month.
The route is being closed until the end of March in order to facilitate long-term works on the N59 between Derradda and Newport, according to Mayo County Council.
The L5437 Gortfahy road will be closed from the N59 junction to the Carrowsallagh junction.
The local road is frequently used to travel to Carrigahowley Castle, a popular landmark in the locality.
The closure will commence at 8 am on Wednesday, February 11, and will last until 5 pm on Tuesday, March 31.
