Marketing Manager Fiona Kelly engaging with prospective students at ATU Open Day
Atlantic Technological University (ATU) is encouraging applicants to submit their initial CAO application on time in order to secure the lower application fee and avoid restrictions. The university is also reminding students that they do not need to have their course choices finalised by February 1, as a free change of mind period runs from early May until July 1 at 5 p.m., giving applicants more time to consider their options.
ATU is unveiling a number of new programmes for the coming academic year, including Veterinary Medicine and Surgery, Physiotherapy, Master of Pharmacy, and Special and Inclusive Education. The university is also expanding its tertiary degree pathways, enabling students to complete Year 1 closer to home at their local Education and Training Board (ETB) before progressing to an ATU campus.
To assist students in making informed decisions, ATU has launched its CAO Hub at www.atu.ie/cao, which brings together programme information, entry requirements, accommodation details, sports and student life resources. The university’s schools’ engagement team is also available to provide one-to-one guidance and campus tours, offering practical support to applicants in the lead-up to the deadline.
ATU Marketing Manager Fiona Kelly said the weeks before the CAO deadline can be stressful for many students.
“The weeks leading up to the CAO deadline can feel overwhelming for students, but they don’t have to be. ATU is committed to ensuring every applicant has the information and support they need to make confident decisions about their future. Whether students are exploring new programmes, considering tertiary pathways, or simply unsure of their options, our team is here to help every step of the way,” she said.
Students who apply after February 1 will be considered late applicants, which carries a higher fee of €65 and additional restrictions.
Further information on programmes and supports is available at www.atu.ie/cao.
