EUROSPAR Belmullet recently hosted an in-store Spinathon last month, raising €4,525 in aid of the National Breast Cancer Research Institute (NBCRI).

The event, which took place on December 5,  saw retailers, staff, customers and members of the public take part day long static cycling event to raise funds for NBCRI.

Retailers Annette and Aileen Howard, who operate EUROSPAR Belmullet, expressed their gratitude for the remarkable support: “We were absolutely thrilled with the turnout and generosity shown by everyone. The energy in the store was fantastic from start to finish and it really showcased the remarkable community spirit that exists here in Belmullet.

“We want to give a special thanks to our loyal customers for their incredible generosity along with our brilliant staff, who threw themselves into the event with great enthusiasm.

“We would also like to pay tribute to the members of Cara Iorrais Cancer Support who joined us to help out and raise awareness of the amazing support services they provide locally.

“Their dedication, along with the support of our customers and community, shows what can be achieved when people come together. It’s wonderful to raise such a terrific amount for a cause that means so much to so many.” he added.

The total amount raised will directly support NBCRI’s vital research efforts, helping to improve diagnosis, treatment  and outcomes for breast cancer patients across Ireland.

Peter Dwan, EUROSPAR Sales Director, commended the Belmullet team and community for their achievement: “Huge congratulations to Annette and Aileen and their team for organising this fundraiser. This event is a shining example of the community spirit that EUROSPAR stores nationwide are so proud of.

“The commitment shown by staff and customers alike is truly inspiring. It’s a fantastic result for NBCRI and a great example of how EUROSPAR supermarkets are supporting this important cause.”
