INMO ‘trolley watch’ has recorded a significant increase in figures over the past weekend at Mayo University Hospital.

Today, (Tuesday, December 16), sees a total of 29 patients waiting for beds at MUH.

Thirteen of today’s trolleys in MUH are in the emergency department, while sixteen of those are in wards elsewhere. 

Mayo University Hospital is now recording the sixth-highest figure of those waiting for beds in hospital nationally.

Yesterday (Monday,  December 16), Castlebar councillor Harry Barrett called on the management of Mayo University Hospital to activate a surge plan now as flu cases rise sharply across County Mayo.
