An Garda Síochána in Mayo are concerned for the owner of a Wicklow-registered beige Seat Altea found in the Northbrook Estate in Castlebar

Search teams in Mayo are examining an area next to the river in Castlebar after a vehicle was found in the vicinity this morning (Thursday, October 2) with the engine still running.

Gardaí in the county town have urged the owner of the vehicle to make themselves known in the wake of the discovery.

The car, a beige Wicklow-registered Seat Altea with a '10 - WW' registration plate, was located in the Northbrook Estate area of the town earlier today.

An Garda Síochána have reiterated their concern for the owner of the vehicle, and have asked anyone who may have information pertaining to the individual to contact the Castlebar Garda Station on 094 903 82022.
