Achill Island Coast Guard made the rescue on Slievemore
Last night (Wednesday) just after 10pm, Achill Island Coast Guard were tasked by the Irish Coast Guard to assist members of the public who got into difficulty while climbing Slievemore, one of Achill island's highest peaks.
While the members were on the descent down the mountain, a sudden thick blanket of fog came upon them as visibility was reduced dramatically. In hazardous condition, they reached out for help with the emergency services on the scene shortly after.
