GARDAÍ in Castlebar investigating the discovery of a body from water in the county town yesterday evening do not suspect any foul play.
The body of the male was discovered in water at Lough Lannagh in Castlebar around 5pm on Thursday afternoon and the area was sealed off pending a garda investigation.
The body of the man believed to be in his 70s was removed to Mayo University Hospital where a post mortem was to be carried out to determine the cause of death. While the investigation is ongoing gardaí do not believe that the death was suspicious.
