The open day will take place from 3-5pm at Music West in Castlebar
The team at Music West are hosting a free annual open day.
People from Mayo and beyond are welcome to attend the event, which takes place from 3-5pm on Saturday, August 31 at the Castlebar site.
Situated in the Breaffy Road Industrial Estate, the local voluntary community organisation focuses on the education, participation and enjoyment of music and the performing arts in Mayo.

The open day is a ‘fantastic’ opportunity to try many different instruments before deciding to commit to classes.
Classes at the organisation are generally one to one, teaching brass, string, woodwind and percussion as well as piano, guitar and ukulele.
Music West also offers fun pre-instrument classes for 4-8 year olds, where children can learn about music in a playful group setting. It gives young children the chance to try many musical instruments, while learning through games and songs.
Additionally, Music West offers opportunities to play with three orchestras, a brass band, and a new big band ensemble, for which they are always looking for new members.
Rehearsal rooms for choirs, rock and pop bands and traditional music are also available at the premises.
For more information on the multi-genre not-for-profit community-friendly organisation, see the Music West website.
