Uisce Éireann crews have successfully completed repairs following a burst water main which impacted customers in Achill yesterday (Tuesday).
Dedicated crews were dispatched yesterday afternoon and worked into the evening to restore normal supply to impacted customers in the communities of Shraheens, Glenco, Derreens, Cloughmore, Currane and surrounding areas.
Uisce Éireann stated that repairs were completed yesterday evening and normal water supply has been restored for the majority of customers. However, those on higher ground or at the end of the network may continue to experience intermittent supply. In the meantime, Uisce Éireann is working to recharge local reservoirs and bottled water is available for those affected.
Uisce Éireann’s Colette Scahill acknowledged the impact on customers.
“On behalf of Uisce Éireann, I’d like to thank customers who were impacted by this unplanned outage for their patience and co-operation.”
Uisce Éireann continues to provide detailed, real-time, and local information about water service and supply issues on www.water.ie. The Uisce Éireann customer care helpline is open 24/7 on 1800 278 278 and updates are also issued via X @IWCare.
