Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to Achill collision involving vehicle and cyclist
Mayo Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after a cyclist was knocked down by a vehicle in Achill and later airlifted to hospital with serious injuries.
A male cyclist in his 50s was airlifted to Galway University Hospital on Tuesday after he suffered serious injuries in a serious single-vehicle road traffic incident. The incident occurred on the L1406 Dugort to Slievemore road on Achill Island on Tuesday morning, July 30.
The road was closed for technical examination by Forensic Collision Investigators, and has since reopened.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident to come forward with any information they may have.
Road users with camera footage (including dash-cam) who were travelling on the L1406 Dugort to Slievemore road on Achill, between 9.30am and 12 noon, on Tuesday, July 30 are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.
