24-year-old Toby Aromolaran, who is set to appear in the new ‘All-Stars’ rendition of Love Island, is no stranger to Co. Mayo.

He originally appeared on the hit reality show in 2021, where he and his then girlfriend, Chloe Burrows, finished as runners-up. The couple continued their romance outside of the villa, but broke up in October 2022.

While Aromolaran grew up in Essex, his mother Victoria is from Crossmolina. The Hashtag United footballer is not shy about his Irish blood. He joined his Irish Mammy on a trip to County Mayo shortly after his summer of love in 2021, where he shared a photo of them, posing in front of a Crossmolina sign, to his 900,000 followers captioned: ‘Me & Mumzy back at her roots!’.

In the ‘meet the parents’ episode toward the end of the show’s seventh season, Victoria’s “twang” had twitter users wondering where she was from. Aromolaran was surprised viewers were unaware of his Irish heritage, as he said he talked about it numerous times while in the villa, however, it wasn’t aired.

Aromolaran is now set for a second chance at love as part of the line-up for spin off series ‘Love Island: All-Stars’. The eleventh series of the ITV dating show will take place in South Africa over the next five weeks, where past Islanders will re-enter the villa in search of romance.

The series begins tonight, January 15, on Virgin Media 2 at 9pm.
