Loftus to run for Aontú in Westport in next year's local elections

John Loftus has been selected by Aontú as a candidate in the Westport Electoral Area in the local elections next year. A retired electronic engineer, John ran his own company based in Palmerstown, providing test and measurement solutions to International and Irish utility companies. He was married for over forty years and has eight children - 5 girls and 3 boys.

Speaking on his selection, Mr Loftus said: “It is an honour to have been selected to carry the Aontú banner in the local elections. I am delighted to be able to spread our message in Westport and throughout the community. Over the last number of years, Government parties have stood by and let issues such as the health of Clew Bay, housing and crime get progressively worse. Aontú is the only party that has consistently espoused common sense solutions and a determination to tackle issues head on for the benefit of communities. I hope to bring that determination to this campaign and if elected, to Mayo County Council.”
