YOUNG men from across South Mayo will mark their farewell to underage football with a charity game in the University of Galway Airdome on December 29.
The fixture will feature two teams made up of players from all eight clubs in the South Mayo area; Shrule/Glencorrib, Davitts, Ballinrobe, Hollymount/Carramore, Mayo Gaels, Garrymore, The Neale, Kilmaine and Claremorris.
Only players born in 2005 will be eligible to play in what will be their last official game of underage football.
There will be no admission charge but donations to the Mayo Roscommon Hospice are greatly appreciated.
Every player will receive a new south Mayo jersey with a crest representing every club in the area.

All managers will receive an appreciation medal for all the work they have done throughout the years with these players.
“This game is to thank all parents, managers and clubs for all the volunteer work that was put into these young men for the last ten years,” said Donal Walsh, Chairman of South Mayo GAA.
“It’s final farewell to the underage football as these men head off into the adult world in life and football. Hopefully they have learned from the underage structure not only about football but maybe a bit about life, work and friendship.”
The game throws in at the University of Galway Connacht GAA Airdome at the Connacht GAA Centre of Excellence at 6.30pm on Friday, December 29.
