Planning permission granted for new boxing and community facility in Foxford

Foxford & Knockmore Boxing Club and Mens Shed have today received confirmation of planning permission for their proposed new development on the Swinford Road in Foxford. It comes as Mayo County Council are due to sign off on a 30-year lease of the grounds to the club on Monday afternoon's meeting of the full council. 

Club representatives have thanked all who assisted them so far including Councillor Mark Duffy who played a crucial role in supporting the club obtain planning permission in time for their sports capital grant application with a deadline of this afternoon (Friday) for submission.

Cllr Duffy said “I was delighted to help support the club in their efforts which is timely for their Sport Capital Grant application. The club provide an incredible service to young athletes in the area and having a new clubhouse will help the next generation of athletes.”
