Search stood down after discovery of a body on Achill Island

Following the discovery of a body in the Dooagh area of Achill this evening, Sunday, July 9, the missing person appeal for Sebastian Palma Sigmond has been stood down.

18-year-old Sebastian had been on holiday on Achill Island but went missing on Saturday evening and was last seen in the village of Dooagh at 5.30pm yesterday evening. A search has been ongoing since then. An Garda Síochána in a statement said they would like to thank the media and the public for their assistance in the search.
