Anton McNulty
THE multi-oscar nominated 3-D film Avatar will be pulling into a car-park near you when it will be shown in the Cinemobile which returns to Mayo later this week. The ever-popular Cinemobile will begin its extensive tour of Mayo this week and will be showing some of the latest Hollywood blockbusters including ‘Avatar’ and ‘It’s Complicated’. The people of Ballycroy will be the first to enjoy the Hollywood experience when the Cinemobile rolls into town on Wednesday, February 10 with a variety of screenings to suit all age groups. The Cinemobile will then move onto Belmullet where it will stay for two days - Thursday, February 11 and Friday, February 12. The Cinemobile then moves onto Achill for the weekend before moving to Tourmakeady for the first time on Monday, February 15 and will remain for two days. Cinemobile is a non profit making organization and a registered charity, funded by the Irish Film Board, RTE, The Arts Council, and Northern Ireland Screen. Mayo County Council also contribute by sponsoring an anti-litter campaign run in association with Cinemobile, whereby a short film with a strong anti-litter message is played before each film screened in the Cinemobile. For Cinemobile screenings and movie times text Movies Cinemobile to 51444 or phone 091 751629 for more details.
