Ireland West Airport Knock would advise all passengers not to travel to the Airport today and to contact their respective airlines at the below numbers for further information and to make alternative arrangements where necessary,” the statement read.
The airport was also forced to close on Tuesday after heavy snowfall and several flights were cancelled on Wednesday because of the weather conditions in the UK. A further travel update is expected to be issued by the airport at 5pm this evening.
The adverse weather conditions also forced Bus Éireann to cancel a number of bus routes throughout the county. The 10am Dooagh to Westport service and also the return service from Westport. The 8.20am service from Blacksod to Ballina did not run this morning and the return service was also cancelled. The 12.10am service from Killadoon to Westport was also cancelled along with the return service.
