TG4 to air Achill student’s TV programme
Anton McNulty
A MOCKUMENTARY written and directed by Achill student Colm Cafferkey will be broadcast this Sunday, August 16 on TG4 starting at 9.30pm. The 20 minute mockumentary entitled ‘Na Misfits’ is the first production for Cafferkey who is a student in Waterford Institute of Technology, which follows the lives of three people with unrealistic dysfunctions as they aim to find their place in society. The programme was written and directed by Cafferkey and edited by Shay de Barra, and was produced as part of the Higher Diploma in Television Production Course being run in WIT in conjunction with Waterford based production company Neneton, and features some excellent acting debuts from Cafferkeys classmates. The course, now in its third year, offers students the opportunity to learn in an industry environment and to have their productions aired on TG4 in the autumn. It will be shown on TG4 on Sunday, August 16 at 9.30pm, and if you are unable to catch it, it will be reshown the following Tuesday, August 18 at 8pm.
