Youth projects

A total of €56,000 has been allocated from the Dormant Accounts Fund for youth projects in Mayo.
Mayo youth groups receive €56,000

YOUTH groups in Mayo received a welcome boost when it was revealed that €56,000 has been allocated from the Dormant Accounts Fund for youth projects in the county.
Funding of up to €1,500 has been designated to 54 youth projects in Mayo which include Foróige clubs, No Name clubs and drama groups. The Equipment Grants for Youth Clubs/Groups was assigned to the Youth Affairs Section of County Mayo VEC in June, and they distributed the funds to the youth clubs which had been approved for grant aid under the scheme.
Up to €2,030,048 was forwarded by the Government under the Dormant Accounts Fund to 1,343 projects nationwide.
Of the amount of funding received by the youth groups in Mayo, 22 received €1,500, four received €1,000 while the remaining groups received between €500 and €600.
