Gardaí investigating the sudden death of a woman in Westport last month have arrested two men as part of their investigation.

Sylwia Adamczyk, aged 40, was found dead at an apartment on Castlebar Street in Westport on Saturday, July 31 last.

A statement from the Garda Press Office this afternoon confirms that investigating gardaí have arrested two men, one aged in his 50s and the other in his 30s.

Both are being detained at Castlebar Garda Station under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984. They can be held for 24 hours without charge.

A post-mortem on the body of Ms Adamaczyk has been completed by Assistant State Pathologist Dr Heidi Okkers.

Gardaí say the results are not being released for operational reasons.

Investigations into the death are ongoing.

Ms Adamaczyk, a Polish national, had been living in Westport for some years prior to her death and worked in the hospitality industry.
