Castlebar Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to an accident that left a mother and child injured.

BELCARRA
Gardaí in Castlebar are appealing for witnesses to an accident that left a mother and daughter seriously injured at Loghphuil, Belcarra, shortly after 3pm on Sunday. The pair were walking on the road when they were struck by a car in what Gardaí described as a single vehicle incident. The woman, in her fifties, and her ten-year-old daughter were taken to Mayo General Hospital and were said to have serious, but not life-threatening, injuries yesterday. The Belcarra Road was closed for a period after the accident.
