A research and education centre proposed for Blacksod has been granted planning permission.

TOURISM BOOST
TOURISM in north Mayo received a major boost this week with the news that a purpose-built, environmentally-friendly, ecological research and education centre has received planning permission from Mayo County Council.
The centre will be located in the village of Termon and the centre is to be run by local man, Anthony Irwin, who also runs locally-based Dúlra Nature Tours. The facility will be aimed at tourists, students and other groups and activities will range from simple ‘show and tell’ presentations for schools to research projects.
