Hay and tractor destroyed in Cong fire

FODDER and a tractor were destroyed in a fire in Cong at the weekend. The blaze destroyed the hay and the tractor in a shed, on a farm in the Creevagh area on Saturday night last. Multiple units of the fire brigade attended the scene to fight the fire, as too did locals from the surrounding area. It is understood the fire was started accidentally.
Meanwhile, a one car collision occurred last Tuesday evening during icy road conditions, when a car skidded and went over a wall at Lavace Rd, half way between The Neale and Ballinrobe. The one car collision occurred during adverse weather conditions and gardaí, ambulance and the local fire brigade attended the scene. It is understood that the driver did not suffer serious injuries as a result of the accident and normal traffic movements resumed shortly after.
