Three arrested after Castlebar retailer dragged by car

Three men have been arrested after they dragged a Castlebar retailer several hundred yards by a car last weekend

THREE men have been arrested after a Castlebar retailer was dragged through Castlebar town centre on Saturday last.
The three who are alleged to have been involved in the serious incident, were arrested in Longford at 10.30am on Monday and were detained at Longford Garda Station, awaiting the possibility of formal charges.
The incident occurred on Saturday morning last after the retailer confronted them two hours after they had allegedly taken a mobile phone from the Phone Fixer shop on Linenhall Street. The retailer confronted them while they were getting into a car on Ellison Street and the retailer then got caught and dragged several hundred yards by the car. The retailer was brought to Mayo University Hospital where he was treated for facial injuries.
